Finish up week!

Hi Everyone,

As you probably know, this is the last chance to finish up your work. Grades are due this week. I will be submitting grades on Friday morning. Review the section of the syllabus entitled "Academic Expectations" and make sure that all of the work you'd like me to see is posted to your fotothing account. I have been leaving positive comments on most of the images posted to your fotothing account that is worthy of your "final portfolio".... If the image has not been commented on, or if I left a comments that implied you could have done better, you probably missed the mark on it. If I left positive comments on one image of a series and you have others like it, then the comment applies generally to the group. I have tried to get you to work with and appreciate natural light and to fill the frame with intentional design. Incandescent, flourescent and flash light sources generally do not count. Out of focus pictures generally don't count either unless they specifically are about expressive movement. Your portrait series should have good natural light falling across the face... the macro series should be about natural form and light and also be sharp.

You should all be proud of what your have accomplished. Many of you started with no experience in working with digital images, much less blogging and creating an online portfolio of images. Your work posted to fotothing.com has been commented on by photographers all over the world. I hope you will continue to post there and keep growing and learning all you can in this new medium. I hope this has been a worthwhile and great learning experience for you. :)

Week 7

This may or may not be the best one, but the style is one of the reasons i love digital imagery/photography! There are a couple I did without the Wadsworth painter just from photos i've taken in Photoshop. I've definitely enjoyed the class, though I wish work had pissed off a bit more and given me time to take more photos, but after such a long term away on chemo, i guess they were eager to get their share too. I've truly enjoyed looking at everyone's work and found many ideas i'd like to try myself. And if nothing else, it's solidified my decision as to buying a digital SLR.

Consciously Floating

My view on me in the world.

Hi Remeber Me

I have been watching but not posting, I have been keeping up with many shots though. The way photo's come out without the flash has just been amazing. I dont know why I never tried it in the first place here are a couple of shots

Hi all,
Well, this was my least favorite assignment. I guess my creativity is on the low end of the scale regarding surrealism. I also had problems understanding that you moved from the Wadsworth site to Paint to Picasa. Once I figured that out it did become simpler. The more images you created the easier it became.

Here is the link to my surreal picture. Im sorry its late but i havent had access to the internet because my new computer doesnt pick up my wireless signal like my old one did.

Anyway i had fun with this assignment. It was kind of cool playing with objects in the different backgrounds. I think my picture makes sense in a weird way. It does to me at least. anjoy!

My Last Post

Hey Everyone... I truly enjoyed all of your creative pictures!! This blog and your fotothing pages have been very enjoyable and I will continue to peek at your FT pages! Best of luck to all of you as you finish up your classes! I thought I would grab an "About Town" picture and found the Cheshire Volunteer FD on a practice drill at The Playground in the Park. So I grabbed my camera (and ok I admit it.. freshend up my lipstick) and took some shots. Here it is in a picassa collage.

Week 7 Assignment

I thought this weeks assignment was fun. These are my three favorites. The rest are on Fotothing!

I really enjoyed this project. I had a lot of fun being creative.

Here are two pictures I did using the Atheneum online.

The first picture is a waterfall and the second is a fish tank.

LOL! Just for Fun!

Nice to have made a new friend in this class!

Another Portrait

ok... :) was debating on posting this one because when you look at it you think what is this child doing?!? actually he was quite done with the whole photo session at this point. I agree with Jerry that the first shot of him had the sun too bright on his face and washed him out. After playing with the shadow and b&w feature this pic came out a bit better...don't be thrown off by his state of worship "pose" truly it just happened that way!

Surrealism

This was an interesting assignment. I had fun creating my own work. This is two of my favorites put together in a a collage.

Face in the sky

It took awhile, but I used the Picasa collage..I need to take more pictures to use this feature

Portraits

Not only late, but piss-poor. I had such a hard time getting the light and detail without a flash (I may have to suck it up and get an SLR because I get frustrated trying to adjust the seetings aand then to catch the shot, my "partner in crime" was especially difficult because she won't stop moving) . I avoided self-portraits because I'm very camera shy, and certainly not photogenic.
