I took this picture in the center of town in Milford, CT. I then went on to Picasa and used the black and white option for this picture. I think the black and white brings more the picture and I love the faint shadow effect against the plaque.

I like the shadows on the plaque too as well as the mass of the block of granite... to make this much stronger, move in on that, thus eliminating all of the extraneous detail like the house behing, and even the statue itself.
