distorted self portrait

Hello everyone,

I am so very new to this, I know very little of what I am doing. Hopefully, this comes out right. Let's see...a little about myself....I'm not crazy about having my picture taken (hence the distorted portrait). This may sound strange but I took this picture in the ladies room at work today. There is a contraption on the wall that holds the "neat seats" in them....anyway, as I was walking out of the ladies room, I caught my reflection in it at the last second and said, wait a minute....this might just work....so I grabbed my camera out of my bag, held it up and took the shot....this is the result. Like I said, I don't know much of what I'm doing when it comes to photography but I am really hoping to learn. I love taking pictures so I hope I can now learn how to take good ones. Okay, I think I got off track a bit...I wanted to say a few things about myself. I am a senior at AMC. I have 3 courses left until I graduate (in May...yippie!!!) with my B.S. in General Psychology. I am getting married this June so some of the pictures I put in my portfolio may have something to do with my wedding/wedding plans. I have a beautiful 3 year old niece that I love more than the world and she will probably be in a lot of my portfolio pictures as well. Right now, I am taking my pictures with a Kodak Easyshare CX7530 but I just purchased a new Kodak Easyshare C875 Zoom (I expect delivery Monday so that will be a new fun toy to play with while learning to take photographs) :) Well, I suppose I should wrap this up for now. I really look forward to working with everyone and getting to know some great "stuff" about photography. By the way, my fotothing name is "mariapiscitelli". I can't wait to start sharing photos with everyone!!
